Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been a Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for more than 20 years. She is a founder of The Huffington Post and the director of Thrive Global. Author of over 15 books. Arianna Huffington is an writer, journalist, TV host, and also the proprietor of The Huffington Post. She was born in Greece then moved to England when she was 16. At Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA of Economics. At 21 she became head of the famous debate club The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign born student to do so. A conservative syndicated blogger when she graduated, she went on to become the voice of Huffington Post. The fame of Arianna has led to the attraction of many prominent contributors to share their opinions on the news, politics and culture. Arianna was famous when she decided in 2003 to stand as an independent Candidate for the California Recall Election in order to succeed the Governor Davis. The project she headed was a Detroit energy-efficient vehicle project. Forbes listed her as the top woman in media in the year 2009. Her ranking was in the 12th spot on Forbes' listing. The Guardian also included her to the list of top 100 media outlets in the year 2009. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post in 2011 and named her head of its media division that also includes additional AOL properties such as Engadget AOL Music Style list and Patch Media. Elli is the child of Konstantinos, a Journalism and management expert. While she enjoyed a strong relationship with both of her parents but it was their connection that shaped her. In her earliest period, she displayed the qualities of a leader for which are still prominently known. At 16 years of age she moved into the United Kingdom to pursue her study and then enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. During her college days she joined the college debating society Cambridge Union where she became the third foreign, and first female president. In 1972, she earned the degree of master's in Economics. After after graduation she worked as an editor of the critic's column and a television host. She also appeared in the show Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books with editorial assistance from him.
