Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She co-founded The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a TV host, journalist as well as a philanthropist, author and journalist for over ten years. Her role also includes being the founder of The Huffington Post, an free-of-cost online news magazine. Originating from Greece, Arianna Huffington moved to England with her family at the age of 16. In Cambridge University she earned a MA Degree in Economics. As the first foreign student to be elected president in the prestigious debate group The Cambridge Union, at age 21 she took on the role. When she graduated, she made her name as an editorialist for the conservative syndicate as well as with the introduction of The Huffington Post' few years later, she developed an online voice portal which gave critical opinions about the current political climate. The celebrity she enjoyed allowed her to persuade a number of celebrities to contribute their opinion about current affairs, political and culture. Arianna was first noticed in 2003 as she stood in California's recall vote, in the place of Governor Davis. Also, she was the head of the Detroit fuel-efficient car project. In 2009 she was recognized by Forbes as the most influential women in the media, achieving 12th position in the list and in the same year Guardian named her to the top 100 of media lists. AOL, Inc. made her the President of their media division in 2011 after they purchased The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post included additional AOL brands like Engadget, AOLmusic Style list or Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos is the daughter of Konstantinos the manager's advisor as well as journalist. Although she was a close friend with her father, it was the relationship she shared with her mother which shaped her entire life. Even in her formative age she demonstrated the leadership abilities that she is still known for. In the year she turned 16, she moved from America to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. In her time at college, she joined the debating society Cambridge Union where she became the first foreign president and was also the third female president. In 1972, her master's in Economics was conferred. Following her degree, she was a columnist-critic and TV host. She was a guest on Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she started writing the books she wrote with Bernard Levin's help.
