Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton, who was born in Locust Ridge Tenn. on the 19th of January. 19. 1946, into a poor family with 12 kids later on, realized early that she could escape suffering through her creative mind. Songs were written by her before she was able to read and write. At the age of eight, she bought her first electric guitar and began singing on the Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. That following year, she made her debut album on Gold Band Records an independent small-scale label. In high school she was able to establish herself within the local community, however her dream was greater. After graduating from high school in 1964 she moved straight to Nashville. Dumb Blonde (both 1967) and Something Fishy were among her first Monument Records chart-topping records. Porter Wagoner began looking for new female vocalists for his syndicated television program at around the exact time. Parton began her career in the year 1967 she signed with RCA Records by 1968, and was a part of the Grand Ole Opry. However, it wasn't until 1974 that she opted to walk away from Wagoner's program as the popularity of her solo albums such as Joshua Coat, Many Colors and Jolene was outstripping their joint efforts. Parton was a part of the group that split after the end of their collaboration with Wagoner was the one to write"I'll Always Be Loved" by You and saw it climb to the top spot at No. 1 for the first time in 1974.
